Racing is Back

Racing is back on a Huntington School on Saturday 11th January 2014.

It’s a 2WD Modified / 540 / 17.5T Points night but other classes with also be running.

Note regarding membership:

2014 BRCA membership needs to be done before you next race. As of 2nd Jan. 30% of YORCC members had yet to renew (including some F1’s). No membership, no racing, no excuses.

Be aware those renewing your membership: follow instructions on the BRCA website exactly, or you may end up with a ludicrous 10 digit membership number. 25% of renewals are being given NEW numbers.!!

AGM October 26th

Saturday 26th October is our AGM at 1900 followed by racing. All classes will race. So please, let’s have a good turnout. We need your feedback on how the club is run and this is your opportunity to have your say. There are some proposals for change but they need your vote.
Doors open at 17.45 – AGM at 19.00

Saturday 19th October – Trucks

It’s truck time again! The 2013/14 Truck Championship gets underway on Saturday the 19th. We only ran a few rounds of this last season – from March until the end of the racing year in July. But for the 2013/14 season we’re looking at a full number of rounds (nine, if my memory serves me correctly).

If you’ve got a Short Course lurking at home, bring it along. The only recommendation is to fit Schumacher truck tyres for the hall at Huntington. 2wd and 4wd mix it together.

All other classes will also run on the night.

Committee Meeting Oct 16th

With the AGM approaching, there is a committee meeting on Wednesday the 16th of October at the Four Alls pub on the A64 at 8pm. We will discuss matters to be raised.

If club members wish to raise anything at the AGM, either mention it to a committee member or flag it on the night under Any Other Business.

EBOR 24Hr – Help Needed!

EBOR 24hr race – 26/27 Oct 2013

The above date is penciled in for the Ebor 24hr Race, but… it will NOT be happening without a team of dedicated track builders and track dismantlers.

The team would need to work from 9pm on Fri 25th Oct to build a track that will require zero maintenance, build the alloy scaffold rostrum and set-up race control (with Mike’s assistance) and then take it all down again on Sunday 27th Oct at 2pm.

On the list so far is the legend Steve (the verminator) Pierce.

Please go to the Facebook page or Oople to post your name if you can help with the above work on the dates required. The race will not be happening if we can’t get enough volunteers.

Thanks,

Col

Saturday 14th September (and Sunday 15th)

There will be no racing at Huntington on Saturday the 14th of September as the club is hosting a one-off event for the BRCA at RHR. This is the end of season final for F3, F4 and F5 drivers. It is open to Yorcc members and, as it’s limited to those F classes, why not come down – you’re not going to be up against F1 and F2 class drivers!

More details can be found here

Saturday 15th June

This Saturday – June 15th – is a Club Night. Trucks will be racing (along with all other classes) so bring your Short Course along for some crashing and banging. Sorry, exciting truck action.

Spring Cup – call for entries!!

You 'orrible showerThe Spring Cup needs you!

The Yorcc Spring Cup is due to take place on Sunday April 7th at Robin Hood Raceway. Classes of racing are 2wd & 4wd buggies and short course trucks (if enough entries and space).

But… possibly due this year’s endless Winter (I swear I saw a pack of wolves on Coney Street last week) entry numbers have been pretty low so far. So this is a call to all racers, whether club members or not, to blow a raspberry at the weather and sign up.

The entry fee is £10 per class and you get to race on the excellent RHR Astro Track. There will be 6 minute races and finals and the whole thing takes place in the same friendly, well organised environment as Saturday nights at Huntington.

To let us know you’re signing up, call Derek Bradby on 07870 155180.

Full details and an entry form can be read here or downloaded for printing out:

Let’s go racing!
