There’s one more night of racing – March 23rd – before we break for Easter and have a whole three weeks away. It’s another Club Night and then we’re back with a 2wd Points Night on the 20th of April.
The Racing Calendar is a Google Calendar and is ‘open’ so it can be added to your own if you are a Gmail / Google / Android user.
Oh, and check out our videos page for some truck nonsense.
We had an even bigger turnout of Short Course Trucks for the second round of the newly-formed Truck Challenge this weekend (16th March). The racing was as… er… close as last time with so many bangs and crashes in the hall that it sounded like a war zone.
There’s a video of some of the truck action on our Youtube page now if you need proof of the mayhem. It’s another Club Night this coming Saturday and then we’re off for three weeks as the school is closed for the Easter break. There is, of course a full Club Calendar.,
After a successful evening of truck racing at our last Club Night we’ve decided to make our Short Course Challenge official. It will now be run as a five round series, with the best three results counting towards the final score.
The next round will be this coming Saturday (March 16th) and the general idea is to run it on Club Nights, keeping clear of 2wd and 4wd buggy Champ nights.
We’d welcome new entrants so if you fancy some indoor Short Course racing in a friendly club environment, come along. At round one, most drivers had swapped the stock tyres on their trucks for Schumacher Mini Pins (Short Course variety) but this can be a bit costly so it’s purely a recommendation.
See you there! <<<insert_appropriate_truck_pun_here>>>
As you’ll be aware, club member Jason Knight took over the running of the club shop following the retirement of Pete from Castle Models.
Moss Models’ website is now up and running and Jason will be adding more stock all the time, as the business develops further.
The physical shop is based at Moss Tyres and Exhausts at Clifton Moor and Jason can be contacted on 07903 389921.
We managed seven, count them – seven, trucks at the club night meeting last night (February 16th). Continue reading
It’s a regular Club Night on Saturday 16th Feb so let’s try something different – if anyone has a short course truck, why not bring it along? A straw poll at last weekend’s race night showed a handful of drivers who were up for taking part in a short course “challenge”. Let’s see how many we can muster; 2wd or 4wd, it doesn’t matter. It’s about trying something different and having fun!
It’s open to non member too – recommended tyres are Schumacher mini-pins, yellow compound.
Anyone got a banjo they can play as we drive round?
Thread started on this over at Oople.
Yup, just as I was about to settle down for the night I received a text from a fellow club member saying the site was down. We’d been hacked!
It’s now half one in the morning and:
1. The site is back up – kind of.
2. My feet are cold.
Seriously though, who hacks a model car club website? Aren’t there better targets?
