We race on a Saturday night at Huntington School, York (see map).
We race
indoors, all year round during school term time. Booking in 6:00pm -
6:30pm, and racing finishes by 11:00pm. Racing is on a polished sports
hall floor, with a good mix of carpet, and jumps.
There is currently no snack bar, but we do boast, courtesy of Peter and Castle Models, a well stocked spares shop. The club currently has on average 42 racers attending.
Along with two & four wheel drive modified classes we run an all encompassing 540 Class, for 'sealed can' 540 Johnson/Mabuchi type motors including Sport Tuned Tamiya, Traxxas Stinger & HPI Saturn 540 motors. This is an ideal class with which to start, not having the expense of
a modified motor. This class is one of the best attended, and racing is
very competitive.

Class changes:
The Club
Championship has been split over two nights, the usual second Saturday of
the month will now be for 2wd Cars & the third Saturday for 4wd Cars.
(This may change to allow for holidays etc, please refer to the on line calendar). All classes will be raced on
Brushless motors (max. can size 540) and LiPo cells can now be used at all our meetings (inc Championship) alongside conventional fair.
At the 2006 AGM it was decided to run a Vintage Class for pre 1991 cars, these would run with HPI Saturn motors. These cars are still catered for, but low numbers has made it prudent to run them in the existing 540 class. |
