FUN DAY AT ROBIN HOOD RACEWAY
On Sunday July 16th we are having a special day at RHR for Yorcc Members and their families. It will run from 11am to 4pm and will include the presentation of this year’s Championship Trophies.
There will be an open track and the club cars that we loan out at the Open Track sessions in York will be there for any newbies to play with (obviously you can bring your own).
There will be a free BBQ lunch and a bouncy castle (and possibly some garden games too).
The idea is for a nice Sunday out and a chance for people to see the RHR track.
If you need any more info, contact Ben Riley , Jerry Ibbotson or Steven Pierce.
This from our Membership Secretary, Mike Cockerill:
Club membership was due for renewal on the 1st October.
As in previous years a period of grace is given, and this expires on 5th November. So you must renew before then.
What happens if I don’t renew before that date ?
Simply put, you become a Temporary member (T number), pay the non-members race fee, and if you race in a ‘points night’ class you will not be eligible to score points in the Club Championship. Nor will you be allowed to run in the A final of that class (unless there are less than 8 competitors).
To renew, complete a 2016-2017 Membership form, available from race control or as a download The form must be signed as indicated and the Fee paid at the time it is handed in.
After processing you will receive a YORCC Club card.
Two small bits of site info:
The Results for the 2016 / 17 season are now on the site (we’re only just getting underway).
The format of the Calendar has been tweaked to an agenda style ie just the dates that have events on. Less us know what you think via Facebook or Oople. It can be easily changed back if needed.
It’s that time of year again. Spring is in the air (almost) and it’s time to start thinking about racing outdoors.
The Bradby Cup is on at Robin Hood Raceway on Sunday March 20th, with 2wd and 4wd classes running. This competition is run in honour of the club’s former Chairman, Derek Bradby, who died in 2014.
More details on the entry form – click to download here. Fill the form in (it’s a Word .doc) and send to the club email address, or simply send your details (as outlined on the form) in an email.
We are going to be running a Vintage class at the next meeting this Saturday 30/01/2016.
Normal 2WD/4WD classes will also run.
Age – pre 2000 (eg 1999 and earlier)
Electrics – modern electrics allowed for reliability
Class – all Vintage class will be entered together eg 2WD with 4WD and all ages together
Spirit – car should be vintage in spirit, eg as true to original as reasonably possible
As these are the first Vintage races they will test the interest level, so dust of your shelf queens and get them running. If there are enough entries we can look at running another meeting when our calendar allows.
Racing returns to Huntington School this Saturday (9th Jan). It’s Round 4 of the 2WD Championship, which includes 540 Sealed Can and Modified.
For the Racing Calendar up until April, visit the club Racing Calendar. This is a Google Calendar, so you can share it with yourself if you have a Google / Android account. It’ll then synch with you automatically.
